Mr. Ali Dawud is an accomplished Ghanaian lawyer and Affiliate Counsel at Merton & Everett LLP, bringing extensive experience in civil litigation, commercial advisory, and regulatory compliance. His work spans dispute resolution, corporate governance, and statutory advisory services, with a strong emphasis on developing practical, business-aligned legal strategies for both public and private-sector clients. As Director/Head of Legal Advisory Services to Ghana’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Ali provides expert counsel on international legal obligations, UN Charter interpretation, and treaty compliance, ensuring Ghana’s positions reflect the highest standards of constitutional integrity and global legal norms. He has served as a principal legal voice for Ghana in high level UN fora, including the Treaty on the Non Proliferation of Nuclear Weapon Plenary Discussion (UN General Assembly), the Sixth Committee, Security Council deliberations, and the International Law Commission, where his expertise has shaped significant negotiations on marine biodiversity, migration, international criminal justice and rule of law.

As an Affiliate Counsel, Ali contributes to the firm’s public-sector and development-focused assignments, including governance reform, legal research, and policy review projects.
